Emergia presented and sponsored the first "Latin American Broadband Show" in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

Buenos Aires, July 11, 2001. Emergia presented and sponsored the first "Latin American Broadband Show" at the Hilton in Buenos Aires, Argentina, July 11, 2001. The two-part event consisted of a show-style conference and a small exhibition with the purpose of demonstrating the development, applications and the advantages of broadband. As part of the show, 12 partners developed and presented applications that require bandwidth.

Some of the applications presented included: e-learning, interactive TV, e-commerce in 3D, tele-medicine, media, entertainment and retail, among others.

In addition, eight stands were present at the end of the show in order for companies to further discuss and demonstrate their applications.

The guests included operators and companies in the telecommunications industry and various dignitaries from the region.

Antonio Lagioia, country manager for Emergia Argentina gave a warm welcome to the 250+ attendees and thanked the partners for their collaboration in the project and for assisting the event.
