Telefonica International Wholesale Services begins to operate its first european PoP for international voice exchange.

Madrid, June 18th, 2003. - Telefonica International Wholesale Services, the organization within the Telefonica Group providing international wholesale communication services, has announced today that recently has successfully completed the full operational exploitation of the first Point of Presence (PoP) for international voice exchange of the Telefonica Group in Europe through an inter-connection agreement with UK operator Primus.

This PoP is situated in London in the same location where Telefonica Wholesale already has presence to manage its IP, Data and Capacity business units needs.

In this location there is an important presence of international operators as well as notable commercial activity, meaning extensive opportunities for new inter-connection agreements with other carriers, becoming at the same time a natural extension of Telefonica Group international voice network.
