Telefonica International Wholesale Services provides international connectivity to the ecuadorian carrier Andinatel
This agreement includes Capacity and IP Transit on the latest generation network with an estimated turnover of US$ 5 million for the next 5 years.
Quito, Ecuador. December the 3rd 2003.- Telefonica International Wholesale Services, global provider of international wholesale services within the Telefonica Group, has signed an agreement for the next five years with the Ecuadorian Carrier, Andinatel, with an estimated turnover of US$ 5 million and the possibility of expanding the agreement for two similar periods more.
Through this agreement, Telefonica Wholesale will supply International Capacity, on its latest generation self healing fiber optic network, and IP Transit, with direct interconnections to the main traffic exchange nodes in the world and direct access to more than 80% of internet's Spanish and Portuguese contents.
Andinatel, Ecuadorian Carrier with presence in twelve provinces in the country, supplying domestic, corporate and institutional voice, video and Internet services , will double fold its bandwidth for international traffic through this agreement.
Data transmission and Internet will be the most benefited services by the enhancement in speed and quality access, due to Telefonica Wholesale latest generation International Backbone as well as to the new fiber optic connection, up to the Peruvian border, that will be under operation by April 2004.
