Telefonica de España's European Wi-Fi coverage to include the 9,800 Hot-Spots of T-Com and T-Mobile.

Telefonica de España has signed a roaming agreement with other two major international wireless carriers, T-Com and T-Mobile, to access at more than 9,800 Hot-Spots within the following countries: Austria, Germany, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom.

Telefonica International Wholesale Services was in charge of the negotiation and signing of the agreements as the Company, within Telefonica Group, managing relations with other international carriers for the Roaming Wi-Fi Service.

As of 8th June, Telefonica de España subscribers will be able to roam their Wi-Fi devices while in the main cities of Germany, 2006 World Cup sites, with the advantages attached to TdE's Wi-Fi ADSL Zones: easy, reliable connection with the same login as in Spain. Customers will also have access to a webpage and a customer care toll-free number, both in Spanish (with the exception of the Czech Republic).

Telefonica de España subscribers can currently use its Wi-Fi services in 8 countries, more than 25,000 Hot-Spots in Europe and the United States. On May 22nd, Telefonica de España signed an agreement with T-Mobile USA to use their 6,700 Hot-Spots in the U.S.

The agreements fall within the framework of the March 2005 alliance between Telefonica de España and the Wireless Broadband Alliance (WBA), a global alliance of major carriers to encourage roaming agreements in WLAN services (Wireless LAN, currently with Wi-Fi technology) and the traffic generated between them.
